Spread Firefox Effort

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

The Spread Firefox (SFX) marketing effort has been enormously successful since it’s conception. It now houses over 10 ‘marketing’-related projects (even though a few projects foster the community development).

Those that use FireFox as their browser of choice should consider leaving feedback on Download.com. According to SFX it takes less than 2 minutes.

I’ve been an active member of the community for quite some time now. One of the added-bonuses of signing up to SFX is that you get a drupal ID that can be used on any participating Drupal site. Mine is robsta@www.spreadfirefox.com:8080.

Hey you can write words using photos from Flickr!

Simply enter this URL in your browser: http://metaatem.net/words/MYWORD where ‘MYWORD’ is the word you wish to see displayed using photos.

Heres an example of me: #flickrWords .flickrImg { float: left; }

Typepad Perks

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2005

We’ve all come to know Six Apart’s online blogging product, TypePad. They also produce the infamous Movable Type publishing platform.

Recently Six Apart added WYSIWYG support for TypePad along with another host of features. This brings TypePad up-to-par with the capabilities of Blogger. Whilst Blogger is free and Google-supported, TypePad really offers a more advanced environment. The only downside is TypePad costs money – and I am a stronger believer in not paying to publish your own thoughts and opinions.

Website Enhancement

Saturday, March 12th, 2005

Well the clean interface we’ve come to love on Robsta.id.au is nearly celebrating it’s first birthday. So why not improve it? Actually thats a good idea!

Over the coming weeks I intend to tweak the existing layout and design, create an alternate theme for my project manager, improve on my link directory (add an interface to manage links etc) and use scripts where-ever possible to enhance the user experience.

Website Enhancement
Favicon is fine, just updated recently. Add new Bur.st logo for hosted content. Create my digital portfolio.

Link Directory
Umm I’m a bit lost for ideas. Develop an interface to create new links in the ‘go’ folder, Automatically generate perl code. add a stat tracker (probs at go/stats/ w/htaccess for auth) for links!

Other Meaning-less crap
